Just how much is Britney Spears worth?

While we don't know down to the final penny, we can tell you that Forbes magazine has released their list of 2010's top earning musicians and she's right up there.

Britney is ranked at number five, with an estimated earning for the past year at £41.8m.

However, her estate is still under conservatorship, so her father, Jamie, controls most of her finances.

In the top spot is U2, believed to have earned around £84.9m, with Madonna and Lady Gaga also making the top 10.

Now, Captain Kyle Jackson has released the following statement: "The issues regarding Britney Spears are being considered by the department to determine if laws have been violated. Particular suspects have not yet been fully identified nor has a formal investigation into open charges officially commenced. At this time we don't know whether or not a formal investigation will be initiated."
It's not all doom and gloom though. Apparently, the rollercoaster of the last few months has brought Britney's estranged parents Lynne and Jamie closer together - with Lynne reportedly being impressed by the way Jamie has handled the situation. "Lynne and Jamie want their child to be whole again," says a family friend.
